Today a great local lunch.
Artichockes, the famous Albenga’ treasures, were amazing and also filled ‘ sardines .
This is a real typical speciality of liguria. They are soooo good but picture is missing because we jumped on them as long as we jumped on farinata!
But chicken and polenta are here . And artichokes! This place is amazing just they do not take bookings and this is the only bad part. We had to queue up around 11,55 .
But we were the first!!!!
Da la dolce vita Albenga
Buono . Antipastino.
Erano sublimi. E poi Paolo ha preso la tartare. Dice che era ottima e saporita .
Now we kind of love this place.
We did a nice walk around the narrow streets and discovered this amazing church of Santa Maria Maddalena
Inside is something to remember. We loved it. Then we walked through scary streets and ended up in corso Garibaldi with amazing old buildings. Breathtaking. And next time I want to visit some museum!
Next time we would like to try this bistrot . Sounds so good and charming! We need to sleep there one time . I loved the Bristol hotel when I was there many years ago.
Genova !!!!!! We’ll be back soon!
@ La greppia via Piave
A great discovery. Even my dad that is mr complain likes tagliatelle alla polpa di granchio there.
This is a great mixed grill. Soooo good.
This is one portion, just to impress you!
The best focaccia and best sardenara
The sardenara is typical of Sanremo I guess . With anchoives, and onion and garlic. Good!
Never seen such a French invasion in our country! Everybody was French!
I needed some shopping as I lack in coats.
We had lunch at la porta verde . Our third time and this time I had this amazing gnocchi with mazzancolle with pesto di rucola
Sooooo good! Too bad no photos as I was chatting with Roberta on the phone.

Taken today around Sanremo!
We went to REZZO, a hilly and woody village close to Pieve di Teco for the pumpkin fair. in the beginning i thought it was too crowded and messy but in the end it was well organized and well done . I almost wanted to go home. I don’t like places with too many people but the four of us left a bit behind the group of friends and climbed up to the castle first. we bought a voucher for 15 euro with 10 tasting coupons. and every corner of the village had 1o stands. first pan fritto. (heavy…without prosciutto or salame is very hard to cope).
then torta di zucca – pumpkin pie that was simply delicious! we walked up till the castle (very step) and the village itself is very nice I am sure that during the day it’s amazing to take pictures of the houses. we had pumpkin soup at the castle and then sausage and beans in another spot of the village. and every house had his own display of the halloween pumpkins.
then we had pumpkin focaccia, pumpkin pie, vin brule pumpkin pie and hot chocolate. in the public gardens a disco!
well done and nice. even if …too many cars. some people were parked km away. almost 6. i wonder…..will they ever be able to reach the village.
